what is missing is /tiger
if ("/tiger" in f) :
f.write(f.read(f.tell()+11)+'/tiger')
A:
The answer was simple. I just had to add a / before /tiger.
If i understand you correctly, the question was not about importing or extracting files with tigl, but about correcting bigfile.002.tiger.

Using and getting global variables from modules in python
I am new to programming and my python file has 2 modules: first and second.
I want to use global variables that are declared in the first module, without defining them in the first module, in the second module. I want to do this in a way that it is efficient. Is it possible?
import first
first.func_1()
print first.myglobalvar
A:
The short answer is no. You'll need to pass in global variables from the first module to the second (and return results to the second). If you want this to be efficient, you'll need to look at what you're doing with globals. Python doesn't have true globals, they're called module globals, and they're only really useful for module constants, which your question isn't about.
